Home again, home again, but still answer-less. Please remember that this is with us hooting and hollering and hand-waving and asking for help. But still, we fell into algorithm after algorithm after algorithm. To be sure, his symptoms would come and go, but most folks become uncomfortable witnessing their loved-ones heaving for breath after a short few paces to bathroom or kitchen. Clearly, something was amiss.. what could it be? Even astute research couldn’t nicely package all the symptoms into one; in fact, at times research expands the box to weighty proportions: hole in heart, non-expanding lung, to vitamin deficiency, to inadequate blood count to some brain-mediated process to something awry with those pesky but disproportionately-blamed adrenal glands…. but, given the lack of improvement, we requested, and were hastily granted, an appointment with a specialist- a pulmonologist (lung doctor). Pulmonary function tests were not perfect, but not horrid. We are awaiting further, more specific testing. He is eating. But, still the spectre of shortness-of-breath continues.
